The Global Learning Lab (GLL) is located in the Walter Commons for Global Study and Engagement on the first floor of Blaustein Humanities Center. The GLL supports language and cultural learning through online learning tools and in-person tutoring, its materials collection (textbooks, films, games), and its programming (events, tutoring, film screenings). The GLL has a quiet study space with open access computers and a teaching space designed for web conferencing and public presentations. It also serves as a meeting space for groups connecting virtually with off-campus partners. To discuss language learning resources and support, or to plan a virtual meeting with off-campus partners, stop by the GLL to talk to Laura Little or reach out via email at laura.little@conncoll.edu. To schedule a class, meeting, or other use of the space, please contact Jordan Rottger (jrottger@conncoll.edu).
The GLL and the Academic Resource Center work together to offer weekly drop-in group study/tutoring for language learners on Sunday evenings in the Walter Commons. The GLL is the home of the Structured Independent Language Study (SILS) program, which leverages the online language learning platform Mango, as well as local expertise, to offer students the chance to study languages not taught as part of the formal curriculum.
