The group of students involved encounters several obstacles such as apathy and decides to use creative approaches to educate the student body, in collaboration with their peers, the faculty and administration. The film also provides a background on the history of bananas as a commodity and on the history of banana republics. Through the use of found footage, interviews and narration, the documentary aims to outline the process of fighting against apathy on a college campus and the various ways to bring about change.
