Project/Mission Statement
The aestheticism associated with nature and organic form has generated overarching standards of beauty and the divine. Technology has often aided inthe false dichotomy between the organic and inorganic, the normal and abnormal, generating dysmorphic experiences for those who do embody the assumed archetype. Using technology as both draft and product in reaction to ceramic sculptural work, scanned and manipulated 3D models create tension with the original physical form. Hand and machine work in tandem both constructing and deconstructing, allowing transport between interior and exterior terrains while influencing a new physical vocabulary brought into ceramic practices.
