Connecticut College cares deeply about the successful transition of each and every student to our residential community. As a result, non-U.S. citizens are not admitted as first-year, incoming students for the spring semester.

Application Checklist

Connecticut College utilizes the Common Application for all application materials and encourages prospective students to create a Common App online account well in advance of the application deadline. This will allow time for completion of the application itself as well as all the other required materials listed below.

As part of our commitment to provide access to Conn to all qualified students, we have waived our application fee.

Required

  1. Common Application including Conn's Common Application Supplemental Application.
  2. Official secondary school transcript (including current year grades)
  3. College counselor recommendation
  4. Academic teacher recommendation- 1 required, 2 recommended (ideally from junior or senior year)
  5. Common Application School Report submitted by an official from your school
  6. Common Application Early Decision Agreement Form for EDI & EDII applicants (signed by ED applicant, college counselor and parent or legal guardian) submitted via your Common Application account
  7. If you have attended secondary school outside of the United States, you will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or PTE) (learn more)
  8. Non-US citizens must submit a Verification of Financial Support (learn more)

Optional

  1. Standardized Test Scores (i.e. SAT Reasoning or ACT). Please see our Standardized Test Policy
  2. Admission Interview (learn more)
  3. Arts portfolio
  4. One non-academic recommendation, such as a peer recommendation, may be submitted via your Common Application account

 

Application Completion

The Admission Committee requests that you submit all required application materials as close to the listed application deadlines as possible, so we may conduct a timely and comprehensive review of your application file. This includes standardized test scores (i.e. SAT Reasoning or ACT) if you have elected for test scores to be included in your admission review.  Please note that after December 1 for EDI applicants, and February 1 for EDII and Regular Decision applicants, the admission committee will assess all applications still missing required materials and may choose to conduct a review of your application based on the items on file.

Application items submitted after December 1 (EDI applicants) and February 1 (EDII & Regular Decision applicants) are not guaranteed to be considered in your application review.
