Antivirus Software Recommendations for Faculty, Staff and Students:
Faculty and staff machines already have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed so you should not install other anti-virus software on a college-issued computer. If you have more than one anti-virus program running on your machine, you may be blocked from the campus network.
Connecticut College encourages students to use anti-virus software on their personal computers.
- For students with computers running Microsoft Windows, Microsoft offers Windows Defender, a fully functional anti-virus and anti-spyware client free of charge for non-commercial computers.
- For students with a Macintosh computer, the college suggests that students use Sophos, also free of charge for non-commercial computers.
