A full slate of programs and activities awaited alumni of all ages who traveled to Conn from around the world. Alumni were soon busy catching up with old friends and getting reacquainted with the campus.
The annual Sykes Society Luncheon kicked off a busy Friday by honoring the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1969. As part of Alumni College, Capt. Todd Moore, Commanding Officer of the Naval Submarine Base, New London discussed the value of a liberal arts education in his career as a submarine officer. At an event honoring the life of Connecticut College Professor Emeritus Charles Chu, his family donated a stunning scroll by Chu, entitled 400 Miles of the Connecticut River, to the College. The first day of Reunion was capped off with a champagne reception and the ever-popular lobster bake. The day ended with the keynote event, a lively conversation between President Bergeron and Ethan Brown '94, founder of Beyond Meat, followed by a reception featuring a sampling of Beyond Meat products.
