During the next 20 years, through 2038, the Campus Master Plan calls for renovating existing campus facilities and developing new spaces to support academic, athletic and residential needs of the College community. With the consolidation and relocation of functions, the College will be able to repurpose space in a variety of ways.
To achieve the goals of the plan, we have identified several large-scale projects as priorities for Phase I (2018-2025) and several smaller-scale projects. These projects align with the fundraising goals of the comprehensive campaign and total about $90 million. They impact all aspects of life on campus from academics to athletics to community spaces.

With a generous gift by the Stark Foundation, a new home for film studies is underway in Hillyer. Students, faculty and staff will benefit from a new editing lab, seminar room, teaching and production space. The project is nearing substantial completion and is slated to be ready for this spring semester.

The waterfront revitalization project provided an opportunity to repurpose the underutilized 33 Gallows building. The design for this space allows for expanded teaching and office spaces for the arboretum, biology, botany, and environmental studies and anticipates a spring semester completion.

The Dayton arena project is nearing its substantial completion with new varsity men’s and women’s locker rooms along with coach offices and enhanced visitor locker rooms.
Timeline: Spring 2022 - Summer 2025
The College is in the process of adding floor-to-ceiling partitions for increased privacy in all residential hall bathrooms. This project, which started in the Katherine Blunt House last summer, will be ongoing over the next three years.
