Wild Ones is a non-profit environmental education and advocacy organization. They promote environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities. Wild Ones is a national membership organization with headquarters located in Wisconsin and chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
The Connecticut Mountain Laurel Chapter of Wild Ones, established in 2006 by Kathy Dame '90 and Nancy Livensparger, meets the third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Science Center at New London Hall on the campus of Connecticut College. It is closely affiliated with the Arboretum SALT Conference program. Each month, after an hour of social networking, the group enjoys a public program related to the goals of the chapter. Visitors are welcome and there is no charge to attend!
